Get started in three steps

Set up Saasybill, define your pricing, and start billing.

Step 1: Connect and configure

Sign up with Xero

Saasybill is designed to work exclusively with Xero, so you must have a Xero account to use Saasybill.To create a Saasybill account, start with Sign up with Xero on the signup page. You will be redirected to Xero to authorise the connection and choose the organisation you want to connect.
The connected organisation cannot be changed later.
Your Company Name and Default Currency are automatically populated from your Xero organisation. Default Invoice Due Date sets how many days after creation invoices are due.You can then map your Revenue Accounts so Saasybill knows which Xero account codes to use for different revenue types.
These are default settings and can be changed later.

Step 2: Define your pricing

Your customers are automatically synced from Xero.
In some cases, we do not know if a Xero contact is a customer, so they are placed in the Possible tab on the customers page.
Plans define how your customers are charged. To create a plan:
  1. On the dashboard, press Create a Plan on the Getting Started Checklist.
  2. Add details like your Plan Name and Subscription Period.
  3. Choose a Plan Type to define your billing structure.

Step 3: Start billing

  1. On the dashboard, press Add a Subscription on the Getting Started Checklist.
  2. Select a customer and attach a plan.
Invoices will not be created in Saasybill or Xero while setup mode is enabled, indicated by the red bar at the top of every page.
Once your subscriptions are created, Saasybill takes care of billing automatically.
  • Invoices are generated in Xero based on your subscription setup.
  • Changes to subscriptions are reflected in future billing.
  • You can track everything from the subscriptions or invoices views.
Subscriptions drive billing. You don’t need to manually create invoices.
